Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Every year Veuve Clicquot puts on their Polo Classic here in New York and I thought it was about time I went. I grew up riding horses and always in the mood for a fun event surrounded by people in fancy dress and rosé. So what better way to kick off the summer then this. To get to the Liberty State Park they had us go on a ferry ride (included with your ticket) from Battery Park which shows you great views of the city and Statue of Liberty. Everyone is dressed to the nines with fascinators, heels and gorgeous summer dresses. I personally opted for flats since it a 20 minute walk in the heat to get to the grounds from the boat drop off and you are walking on grass all day balancing a large glass of rose so not the ideal for a clumsy person like myself. We brought a blanket, water, snacks and a basket to enjoy the day with polo and great people watching surrounding us.

We lucked out with the weather since this event is rain or shine and everything is outdoors from food trucks to walk up bar tents and Veuve Clicquot merchandise for sale. They sell blankets and umbrellas so you don't have to trek all that there but if you want to spend over $100 and wait in the worlds largest line for something you are going to use once be my guest. The Polo match started around 3 and the event runs from 11-6 so a full day of enjoying the sun and surrounds, make sure to get there early though if you want to claim your spot then walk around and explore.

One thing they got down is set up Instagram worthy flower walls. They had many spots people were lining up up to take photos in front of these beautiful wall displays. Once the game started it goes quickly they have four periods each lasting only seven minutes so only an hour game you don't want to miss especially since Nacho Figueras plays every year. Take a look below at some of the moments I captured along with links to what I wore.

xoxo,

Ashley
